06.12.2018 | 17:21
From November 1 through 30, 11 tankers and unauthorized cargo ships were registered in ports of the occupied Crimea*. All vessels were under the flag of Russian Federation. In total, these ships entered the ports in Sevastopol and Kerch 28 times.
In addition, 13 ships, 10 under the flags of Russian Federation and 1 under the flag of Belize, 1 under the flag Moldova, 1 under the flag Republic of Togo were registered on the roads in the water areas of Sevastopol, Feodosia and Kerch ports used for parking.
We remind that seaports located on the territory of Autonomous Republic of Crimea (Evpatoriya, Kerch, Sevastopol, Feodosia, Yalta) are closed by the order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on April 30, 2014 № 578-р “Some Issues of Functioning of Maritime and River Transport” and in accordance with Ministry of the Infrastructure of Ukraine order of 16.06.2014№ 255 "On closure of seaports".
Entry of vessels under foreign flags to closed seaports and terminals located in Crimea and Sevastopol is a violation of international law as an act that undermines Ukraine's sovereignty as well as a violation of Ukrainian legislation and entails the liability (criminal in particular) of ship owners, operators and captains of vessels.
