33 INTERNALLY DISPLACED FAMILIES WILL SOON BE ABLE TO OBTAIN TEMPORARY HOUSING

The purchase of housing for more than one and a half hundred internally displaced persons (33 families) will be realized through co-financing of state and local budgets 70/30%.

13000000 UAH are provided from the state budget for this program. The decision on the subvention was made during the regular session of the Government. Funds will be distributed between 11 cities and towns in different Oblasts of Ukraine. Thus, more than three dozen families, and this is about one and a half hundreds of displaced persons, will be able to obtain temporary apartments, and houses.

«Co-financing of budgets is one of the most effective tools for providing housing for internally displaced persons. Previously, in this way we were able to organize the process of acquiring housing for 6 families living in Zhytomyr. Now, a number of cities and towns of Ukraine have agreed to co-finance, to solve the urgent issue - providing housing», ‒ said Oksana Koliada, Minister for Veterans Affairs, Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons.

Mostly housing will be given to those families that have children and persons with disabilities, are considered to be low-income and in need of social protection in the first place.
