AN AVENUE IN MEMORY OF WOMEN FALLEN FOR FREEDOM AND INDEPENDENCE OF UKRAINE WAS BEDDED OUT IN THE CAPITAL
To honour fallen women-warriors 14 apple trees were bedded out on Pravda Avenue in Kyiv.
Opening of the avenue was initiated by non-governmental organization «Women Veteran Movement».
OleksandrTereshchenko, Deputy Minister of Veterans Affairs, Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons of Ukraine, participated in the event.
«Our duty is to honour the memory of our defenders. These women made their brave choice; they went to defend their land and their people and died for Ukraine. May they forever be remembered and respected», ‒ said Oleksandr Tereshchenko.
One of such avenues was already created in Kramatorsk in April 2019. 13 ornamental apple trees were bedded out in remembrance of women who gave the most precious thing - their lives for the freedom of Ukraine.
Creation of the Avenue represents an important part of the new patriotic history of Ukraine, its new perception, as the initiators noted. Pupils, students, ordinary citizens can come here at any time in order to better understand and feel the events that are currently taking place in the East of Ukraine.
