HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS OPEN DOORS DAY FOR APPLICANTS FROM TEMPORARILY OCCUPIED TERRITORIES

On May 11, 2019 Higher Education Institutions on the basis of which Educational Centers «Crimea-Ukraine» and «Donbas-Ukraine» were created, held Open Doors Day in Kherson, Sievierodonetsk and Kramatorsk. Educational Centers invite applicants from temporarily occupied territories to apply to Ukrainian Universities through simplified procedure  

This year`s Open Doors Day reception hosted around 400 future applicants with parents and representatives from Ukrainian Universities. Comparing with last year there has been a significant increase in participants.

Each institution presented its capabilities; representatives from Universities explained how school graduates from temporarily occupied territories can apply through simplified procedure and get a diploma that is recognized both in Ukraine and world-wide.

Having visited Open Doors Day future applicants received comprehensive information about Universities and qualified advice on terms and conditions regarding access and study, educational opportunities and additional benefits.

Kherson

Higher education institutions Open Doors Day was held in Kherson; «Crimea-Ukraine» Educational Centersfunctiontheir basis.

Representatives of 28 Universities of southern areas of Ukraine, and also Kyiv, Lviv, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia and Dnipro came to Kherson State Maritime Academy.

Head of the MTOT in Kherson oblast Denys Chystikov, during his speech noted:

«This year is a 4th one when applicants from occupied territories have been welcomed to Educational Centers «Crimea-Ukraine». Activity of Educational Centers is very important for Ukraine, because children who come to us for obtaining higher education are those strings which will create conditions for de-occupation of our territories and will open possibilities to return them under control of Ukrainian Government. Children, applicants, their parents in Crimea have to realize that Ukrainian Universities are a guarantee of obtaining European level of education, which will give them not only a diploma, which can be recognized all over the world, but also knowledge that will be useful throughout adulthood».

Sievierodonetsk

During the receptionin Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University, Sievierodonetsk head of the MTOT in Luhanska oblast Serhii Kopylov, expressed his hopes for fruitful cooperation of all the State authorities to attract children from temporarily occupied territories to enter Educational Institutions of Luhanska oblast:

«Thank to all participants of this reception for their work and results, which are extremely important and necessary to return children from temporarily occupied territories in Ukrainian society. I do hope that together we will be able to provide high-quality Ukrainian education for as many children as possible».

 

During reception 9 educational institutions, 8 teaching facilities of Luhanska oblast and V.I. Vernadsky Taurida National University were presented.

Kramatorsk

Higher educational institutions of Donetsk oblast came to Kramatorsk to present applicants their University.

Headof the MTOT in Donetska oblast Alla Volodymyrovna Nazarenko attended Open Doors Day and congratulated participants of the reception and noted:

«As a result of armed conflict, country faced new challenges whichworsened the situation that adversely affected the livelihoods of millions of people and slowed pace of development of the country.Lack of sufficient informing has played and plays a negative role in conducting successful introductory campaign and leads to lack of awareness in young people from temporarily occupied territories about possibility of entry Ukrainian Educational Institutions. Today our goal is to convey informationto people living in temporarily occupied territories about possibility of obtaining Ukrainian education in Government controlled areas».

 

Reception was organized with assistance of MTOT, Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, State Administration of Kherson, Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts.
