The Minister for Veterans Affairs, Temporarily Occupied Territories, Internally Displaced Persons of Ukraine Oksana Koliada told about this during her working visit to Kherson Oblast.

“We are developing a State Target Program to encourage children and young people who are forced to live in a temporarily occupied territory, which will give them the opportunity to receive Ukrainian education,” said Oksana Koliada.

The program will be developed to fulfill the order of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

Recently, he held a meeting on providing young people living in the temporarily occupied territories with opportunities to obtain a passport of a citizen of Ukraine and assistance to applicants for entering higher education institutions of Ukraine.

The President also noted that these measures should motivate young people to receive Ukrainian education and help them to arrange their future life in the Government-controlled territory of Ukraine.

Therefore, the Minister for Veterans Affairs informed that the Program would provide for various mechanisms of attracting young people: providing scholarships to study at any university of Ukraine, providing hostels for applicants and students from TOT, the possibility of further education and internships in foreign universities, and the mechanism of further employment.

The Minister also told about a plan to develop the process of obtaining distance education for children living in TOT.

Specific developments of the Program will be made in the near future.
