These holidays MTOT continues to work - Deputy Minister Heorhiy Tuka made a working visit to Kreminna Luhansk Oblast, where he examined construction progress of the new substation Kreminska (500 kV substation), talked with local authorities and contractors on the time-frame in which the substation will become operational and  on including Luhansk Oblast to United Energy System of Ukraine.

«Through coordinated actions by Government and local authorities, Luhansk Oblast will finally get rid of the status «energy island»! The construction of substation Kreminska is coming towards the end! MTOT continues to assist in realization of the project and monitor construction progress», - noted Heorhiy Tuka during the visit.

As reported previously (https://mtot.gov.ua/ua/vadim-chernish-pidstancija-kreminska-mae-strategichne) to provide power generation and electric power supply in Luhansk Oblast with the support of the of Ministry for Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons of Ukraine, Civil-military administrations of Luhansk Oblast and the state enterprise NPC ! «Ukrenergo» accepted decision at the state level to build new substation «Kreminska» and new 26 km high voltage power line.

The substation will be connected to the power lines «Donbas-Donska» (500 kV) and «Kreminska-Yuvileyna» (220 kV). This will enable the inclusion of Luhansk Oblast to United Energy System of Ukraine.

The construction of the electrical substation itself started at the beginning of 2018, but its completion date and start-up were repeatedly postponed. One of the reasons was the registration of the right to use land for the substation.

The working visit of Minister Vadym Chernysh directly to the construction site and meeting with authorities expedited the resolution of this issue - with the active support and coordination of MTOT, the Government made an important decision* on reassignment of land on a permanent basis for the placement, construction, operation and maintenance of the substation «Kreminska», which allowed to bring its construction to the completion stage.

MTOT constantly monitors the process of project realization.

Employees work 12 hours on a rotational basis in order to put the facility into operation as quickly as possible.

Construction done so far:

- 96 out of 109 supports are mounted;

- 8.6 km of access road is equipped;

- maintenance work on artesian wells, autotransformer foundations are fully finished;

- conducted construction, installation, hook-up and start-up reconstruction work of 220 kV substation «Yuvileyna» and tests to set the equipment under operating voltage;

- building and installation work on construction of a cable section 1488 m and 1511.00 m long;

- 220 kV GIS building substation was equipped.

Electrical substation «Kreminska» is of strategic importance for reliable power supply in Luhansk Oblast: it will provide electricity to facilities of the social field, and will allow the industry to recover and develop.

With the outbreak of armed aggression of the Russian Federation in the East of Ukraine in 2014, Luhansk Oblast was on the verge of an energy crisis, where the only source of electricity generation was the Luhansk thermal power plant, which is located almost on the contact line. MTOT continues to monitor construction progress of the substation Kreminska and will traverse it on its public sources.
