It's come to light today that at the request of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation, “Roskomnagliad” (hereinafter referred to as “Roskomnadzor”) blocked the website of the Ministry for Reintegration of the Temporary Occupied Territories of Ukraine.
It is not yet clear whether the website of the Ministry for Reintegration has been blocked only on the territory of the Russian Federation, or also on the territories of Ukraine temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation.
However, it is known that the Government of the Russian Federation has chosen a rather strange reason for blocking the website, namely, “claims were triggered by the news of the concealment of COVID-19 patients in Crimea and Donbas”.
The Russian Federation was concerned about the data from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine about the lack of tests, and that only “officials” of the occupation administrations of the Russian Federation and military personnel were being checked, and that patients with relevant symptoms are diagnosed with the ARVI and doctors are obliged to non-disclosure of accurate diagnoses.
Russian officials are referring to the fact that their occupation administrations have reported on the absence of patients and a large stock of tests. At the same time, “Roskomnadzor” and the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation continue to ignore the information about fatal cases in ORDLO (occupied areas of Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts) and the information from the representatives of the occupation administration of the Russian Federation in the Ukrainian Crimea that the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation plans to station the coronavirus-infected military servicemen in Sevastopol, for which they have already started to prepare the hospital ship “Yenisei”, which the Russians use as a polyclinic for medical examinations and a small free military hotel for the command.
“We are sure that the concealment of the real data by the occupation authorities of the Russian Federation in Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts, and in Crimea about the incidence of COVID-19 is just an excuse to block our Ministry’s website. The main factors behind such actions are absolutely concrete position on illegal actions of the aggressor country on the Ukrainian territories, disregard of the norms of international law, position on the persecution of the indigenous people of Crimea and the plans to seize the land, on refusal of the Russian Federation to fulfil its obligations to withdraw their troops from the territory of Ukrainian Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts and the like. In addition, the Russian Federation insists that it has nothing to do with the combat actions on the territory of Ukraine and dissociates itself from the real influence on its occupation administrations and the situation in the temporarily occupied territories, by such actions once again confirms the opposite,” noted the Ministry for Reintegration.
It is interesting, that the situation with the website of the Ministry for Reintegration is the first case of blocking the state website of another country by the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation.
