INFORMATION ON AREAS OF COMPACT SETTLEMENT FOR IDPS IN THE FIRST QUARTER OF 2020 (AS OF APRIL 1, 2020)

The Ministry for Reintegration of the Temporary Occupied Territories collects and analyses information on a quarterly basis on areas of compact settlement for internally displaced persons (IDPs) by various parameters, in particular the needs of IDPs who reside there (by type of building and form of ownership); the status of area of compact settlement (whether they are working or not, when they opened or closed for the first time, the arrival/departure of IDPs in the last 3 months); demographic characteristics (total number of places in the centre, the number of IDPs, including minors and elderly persons); debts and risk of eviction; housing conditions (availability of kitchens, bathrooms, lavatories); cases of conflicts between IDPs and local residents, and the like).

Therefore, according to the data from the Regional State Administrations, as of April 1, 2020 there were 170 areas of compact settlement with a total of 13 078 places, where 6960 IDPs are residing, including 1653 minors and 2014 elderly persons.

The most inhabited types of areas of compact settlement for IDPs are modular cities, hostels, sanatoriums and boarding houses.
