CABINET OF MINISTERS APPROVED THE INCLUSION OF THE NORTH CRIMEAN CANAL AND THE KAKHOVKA MAGISTRALE CANAL INTO THE LIST OF FACILITIES THAT ARE NOT SUBJECT TO PRIVATIZATION
The Cabinet of Ministers approved the bill "On the list of facilities of state-run property that are not subject to privatization." At the suggestion of the Ministry for Reintegration of Temporary Occupied Territories of Ukraine, this list includes two strategic facilities: The Department of the North Crimean Canal and the Department of the Kakhovka Magistrale Canal. These enterprises are included in the list to ensure constant monitoring of them and to avoid possible threats to national interests.
“The Ministry for Reintegration is concerned about the situation in temporarily occupied Crimea, where the Russian occupation authorities barbarously use water resources to provide water to the occupation army and further militarize the Ukrainian Peninsula, while neglecting the needs of the population. According to experts' estimates, available resources are sufficient to fully meet the needs of the residents of Peninsula. What we see is Russia's deliberate violation of international humanitarian law. Ukraine will resume water supply to the Crimea immediately after its de-occupation,” said Deputy Minister for Reintegration of the Temporary Occupied Territories, Ihor Yaremenko.
Let us recall, that the Department of the North Crimean Canal and the Department of the Kakhovka Magistrale Canal are on the List of facilities of state-run property that are of strategic importance for state economy and security, approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 83 dated from March 4, 2015.
