KATERYNA LISOVA - DISPLACED PERSON FROM ALCHEVSK, - ESTABLISHED CONTACT GOAT FARM IN CARPATHIANS
Kateryna Lisova, together with her neighbour Kateryna Ilkiv, a widow who brings up two sons and a daughter, were able to create a goat farm in the Tukhlia village, in Lviv Oblast.
“We saw the information, that displaced persons were given grants to start entrepreneurial activity. Without thinking, we decided that it would be goats. At that time, I had one old goat Milka, who was able to give birth of a baby goat Zirka,” recalled Kateryna Lisova.
Kateryna, who has an education of marketer, wrote a business plan just in few hours, and submitted a request to the grantor just minutes before deadline. Without waiting for an answer, on pension alone and thanks to the support of friends, they began to buy goats from the residents of the village. Kateryna still won a grant, and not one. They bought a milking machine, refrigerators, other equipment, and most importantly, began to increase the number of livestock.
In less than three years, their herd has grown to more than three dozen goats. In addition, there are also sheep, a separate poultry yard and a horse. Children, friends and volunteers help with the housekeeping.
