On April 1 at 17:51, mortar attacks were recorded in direction from settlement Holubivske in the territory of ORLO (occupied areas of Luhansk Oblast) to the territory of settlement Novotoshkivske (Popasna district in Luhansk Oblast), which is near the contact line.

According to the press centre of the Joint Forces Operation, the shelling was carried out by the aggressor country's armed formations - the Russian Federation.

As verified with the Civil-Military Administration of Luhansk Oblast, one 120mm shell fell at a distance of about 6 meters from a five-story house on Oleh Vatazhna Str. and close to the territory of Novotoshkivske Educational Complex No.10.

Fortunately, due to the quarantine the educational process is now carried in the form of distance learning, so there were no casualties as a result of the shelling.

A total of 13 cases of violation of the commitments to observe the ceasefire by the Russian armed formations, of which twice using the arms prohibited by the Minsk Agreements were recorded on April 1.

As a result of enemy attack on April 1, two of our soldiers were wounded. Due to the operational activities of the military medical institution, they were provided with appropriate medical care.

“These facts are a flagrant violation of the ceasefire agreements and they pose a direct threat to the lives of civilians and children. The Ukrainian side is doing everything possible to fulfil its obligations in the framework of the "Minsk Process" and to secure the stability of peace in Donbas. We seek the safe reintegration of the temporarily occupied territories, as hundreds of thousands of our people want to return home. But it is impossible to ensure progress towards resolution while the attacks continue. For our part, we unequivocally observe the "ceasefire", while the enemy does not abandon attempts of provocation. The ceasefire should be mirrored, not one-sided on our part. Those who fire at residential houses and schools do not want peace and surly do not think about the people who are on those territories, they deliberately block any movement, including attempts of international organizations to get to the temporarily occupied territories,” said Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine for Reintegration of the Temporary Occupied Territories Oleksii Reznikov.

The information about this incident will be shared with representatives of the international community and international mediators to ensure a response to the occupying state.
