THE MINISTRY FOR REINTEGRATION, TOGETHER WITH INTERNATIONAL PARTNERS DEVELOPS AN INTEGRATION STRATEGY FOR IDPs
The Ministry for Reintegration of the Temporary Occupied Territories of Ukraine (MRToT) together with the Council of Europe Project “Internal displacement in Ukraine: development of durable solutions” is holding an autumn school "Local initiatives are the way to durable solutions" in Odesa from September 30 to October 2.
The purpose of an autumn school is to establish a platform to share experiences and best practices for the implementation of long-term solutions for internal displacement, discuss current challenges and strategic directions for the integration of internally displaced persons (IDPs) in host communities.
Representatives of the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, the State Specialized Financial Institution "State Fund for Assistance to Youth Housing Construction", the Coordination Center for Legal Assistance and the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine will take part in the event.
During the autumn school panel discussions, thematic trainings of the session, presentations devoted to the issues of compensation for destroyed property, access to housing and social security, practices of other states affected by armed conflicts are planned.
Inna Holovanchuk, Deputy Minister for Reintegration of TOT of Ukraine, noted that currently MRToT together with international partners develops an integration strategy for IDPs and the implementation of long-term solutions for internal displacement. "Priorities in the Strategy are to ensure the right to housing, the right to education, support to host communities, ensure the right to health care and the like," said Inna Holovanchuk.
