THE MINISTRY FOR REINTEGRATION AND THE WORLD BANK CONTINUE COOPERATION

The Ministry for Reintegration of the Temporary Occupied Territories of Ukraine realizes a grant of the World Bank aimed at conflict response, recovery and capacity building.

The realization of this Project has been extended until the end of 2020. On the session held in the end of May, the Working Group on Grant Realization considered relevant issues of further successful realization of this Project.

Within the framework of the Project, the realization of nine sub-projects continues, which are aimed at assistance to local authorities to meet a number of needs of the IDPs and the veterans of the ATO/JFO and their families. Each person is an individual and needs are individual, but if we identify a number of issues that face most of these categories of citizens, it is the need to obtain a stable income, to receive appropriate medical and psychological assistance, the need for social adaptation in a new place of residence.

This project is realized in 4 oblasts of Ukraine with a total budget of over USD 2 000 000. Estimated coverage:

  •   9 territorial communities
  •   126 000 IDPs
  •   50 000 ATO/JFO participants and their family members

Estimated number of final beneficiaries for basic services:

  • more than 2 000 persons will receive psychological rehabilitation
  • about 5 000 persons will receive physiotherapeutic and medical rehabilitation services
  • about 700 persons will receive training in business planning, employment and psychosocial rehabilitation
  • about 900 persons will be able to get employment assistance
  • over 500 persons will get legal advice

In order to achieve the objectives of the sub-project during 2018-2020, the Ministry, in close cooperation with local authorities has been realizing activities aimed at major repairs of hospitals, establishment and operation of the Centre for Public Safety, operation of HUBs with a package of services for these categories of citizens, services for assistance in obtaining skills for employment or start-ups.

In order to maintain a high level of provision of the aforementioned services, the Working Group on Grant Realization has updated the sub-project implementation plans, which will contribute to further successful realization in the future. Possibilities of additional financing of some sub-projects with high success performance were also considered.
