Currently, a recreation and retreat centre is disconnected from communications by court order, and is unsuitable for living.

Representatives of the Ministry for Veterans Affairs have repeatedly visited the recreation and retreat centre and talked with the residents of «Dzherelo», 45 IDP families, collecting information on their needs. In addition, representatives of the Ministry received information that due to non-compliance with fire safety at the end of the year in the sanatorium «Dzherelo» (Kyiv, Pushcha-Voditsia), on the basis of a court decision, the power supply was cut off to protect people and prevent fires and possible casualties.

At the request of the Ministry for Veterans Affairs for a certain time the residents of the sanatorium were provided with free firewood by the Department of Forestry and Hunting, and State Emergency Service of Ukraine provided them with electricitywith the help of the generator.

«It gave us the opportunity to take the time and accommodate our efforts to find ways to resettle these families. A complete database of the vacancies with competitive wages and housing, as well as various hostels with appropriate living conditions, has been developed,» said Ruslan Kalinin, Deputy Minister for Veterans Affairs, Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons.

It is worth noting that a separate section has been created on the Ministry's site with a list of vacancies and premises available throughout Ukraine. But the residents of the sanatorium insist on their exceptional desire to live in the capital, so this was also taken into account and options were selected for them in Kyiv and suburbs.

Elderly and persons with disabilities have also been offered accommodation in several boarding homes and a geriatric boarding house in Kyiv Oblast with the possibility of life-long maintenance.  Representative of the Ministry Andrii Pavlovskiy, familiarized with all the options for temporary residents personally, having visited the recreation and retreat centre once again.

The relevant international organizations, which the Ministry for Veterans Affairs has also introduced to this issue, are ready to provide assistance.
