МТОТ ACCORDING TO RESULTS OF SPACE IMAGERY ANALYSIS: “MAKIIVSKYI METALLURGICAL PLANT” ALMOST STOPPED ITS ACTIVITY

According to the results of the special processing of data from open sources and space images, "Makiivskyi Metallurgical Plant”, located in the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk, decreased the volume of work and extraction of raw materials.

Makiivskyi Metallurgical Plant”- is one of the largest ferrous metallurgy enterprises in Ukraine. By 2010, a company with a full metallurgical cycle allowed to produce up to 1.5 million tons of high-quality rolled steel per year. In early 2017, the illegal armed groups seized the enterprise, which is now under the "external control" of occupation administrations.

Despite all the efforts of the occupation administrations to disseminate information on the prospective of expanding the market of products and the efficient operation of the plant, the results of the analysis of the space images confirm that the plant almost does not work. There is no property, raw materials and products in the warehouses, which can testify the lack of orders at the plant. Also, the lack of coal can indicate the unsatisfactory supply of the plant with fuel during the heating season.

For now, most of the shops are closed (open-hearth, blast furnace, rolling mill №1, foundry and others). The plant maintains the operation of the rolling mill only for the production of wire rod and reinforcing rolled products.

Probably, the lack of skilled personnel, raw materials for manufacturing products, and the lack of sales markets led to the recession of the plant.

Makiivskyi Metallurgical Plant” is one of many Ukrainian enterprises illegally seized in the occupied part of Donbas, where the occupation administrations of the Russian Federation introduced "external management".

The so-called "new leaders", in effort to reduce the economic burden of the Russian Federation concerning the maintenance of the occupied territories, failed to properly launch and establish the work of enterprises, further worsening the economic situation in the temporarily occupied territories.
