A SERVICE WAS HELD TO COMMEMORATE SOLDIERS-INTERNATIONALISTS IN HONOUR OF THE 31ST ANNIVERSARY OF THE WITHDRAWAL OF TROOPS FROM THE REPUBLIC OF AFGHANISTAN

Flowers were laid to the Memorial in the capital and a requiem rally was held in memory of the fallen soldiers in Afghanistan.

Representatives of the Ministry for Veterans Affairs, the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, veteran non-governmental organizations and veterans attended the commemorate.

“Many of those who have been in Afghanistan, with time, took arms again to defend Ukraine in Donbas. They have shared their experience, have applied it already in our modern Russian-Ukrainian war and I thank you for that. Our priority is the protection of war veterans, nurturing respect for all participants in the hostilities,” said the Minister for Veterans Affairs, Temporarily Occupied Territories and IDPs Oksana Koliada.
