OKSANA KOLIADA: A VERY IMPORTANT AND GLOBAL PROJECT FOR MARIUPOL WAS FINALLY LAUNCHED

04.03.2020 | 15:15

Oksana Koliada, Minister for Veterans Affairs, Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons of Ukraine, talked about a comprehensive program of supplying drinking water to the city and improvement of the relevant infrastructure - water supply and sewerage systems, wastewater modernization, drinking water treatment, biological treatment of wastewater, etc.

“As a result, the quality of water in Mariupol will be much better, the cost of water disposal services will be lower and rational use will be improved. But most importantly, Mariupol will receive an independent system, that will protect its residents from difficulties in case of termination of water supply to the city from the water pipeline running through the temporarily occupied territory,” said the Minister.

This project was made possible due to the support of the Government of the French Republic and the allocation of a EUR 64 million loan for our country. The city authorities together with specialists from the Ministry for Veterans Affairs and the Ministry of Finance have been working on the implementation of the project for a long time.

Oksana Koliada noted that there were many difficulties in the process of launching the project: “But thank God, we have found understanding and all the obstacles to launch the project have finally been overcome! I congratulate the Mariupol city authorities and personally Vadym Boychenko. I would like to thank our team and Artem Salikhov for daily project push. Thank you the Ministry of Finance and Oksana Markarova for understanding and support.”
