THE UN WILL SUPPORT INNOVATIVE STARTUPS FOR THE COMMUNITIES OF EASTERN UKRAINE

The United Nations Recovery and Peacebuilding Programme is holding an all-Ukrainian competition of IT solutions for communities of eastern Ukraine "EastCode". Everyone can apply for the competition, where the best IT-projects for the realization in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts will be selected.

Project themes should relate to local governance, environmental protection and bringing public services to the population of eastern regions of Ukraine.

The finalists of the competition will be able to receive from USD 5 000 to 10 000 for their project. The main criteria for selecting startups are innovativeness, scalability, realism and social impact. To familiarize with detailed requirements please follow the link.

The evaluation will be conducted in several stages, and the final decision on the distribution of grant funds will be made by the jury based on online presentations of the participants.

Deadline for applications is from October 12 to November 23.

The national competition is organized in partnership with the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine, Donetsk and Luhansk Regional State Administration with the financial support of the governments of Canada, Denmark, Switzerland and Sweden.

The program is supported by international partners: the European Union, European Investment Bank, U.S. Embassy in Ukraine, as well as the governments of the UK, Denmark, Canada, the Netherlands, Germany, Norway, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland and Japan.
