DEPUTY MINISTER O. ILYASHENKO AND UNDP REPRESENTATIVES DISCUSSED PARTNERSHIP IN SUPPORT OF THE EAST OF UKRAINE
Partnership and fruitful cooperation aimed at supporting the East of Ukraine were discussed during the meeting by Deputy Minister of Veterans Affairs, Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons of Ukraine on European Integration Oleksii Ilyashenko and representatives of the UN Recovery and Peacebuilding Programme (UNDP Ukraine) Victor Munteanu and Vitalii Krysko.
Reference was also made to the facilitating of social cohesion, preserving livelihoods and ensuring community security.
Oleksii Ilyashenko expressed his gratitude for supporting the victims of armed aggression of the Russian Federation in the East of Ukraine. The Parties have given assurance of their intentions to further work without respite in direction of improving people's lives and community development.
The United Nations Recovery and Peacebuilding Programme in the East of Ukraine is funded by 11 international donors and implemented by 4 UN agencies under the coordination of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). In recent years, the United Nations Recovery and Peacebuilding Programme and the Ministry have established strategic partnerships and fruitful cooperation aimed at supporting eastern Ukraine in restoration, social cohesion, preserving livelihoods, mobilizing and ensuring community security, ensuring the provision of high-quality public services to the population in conflict-affected territories and the Rule of Law, and so forth.
