MORE THAN 9600 APPLICATIONS FOR HOUSING LOANS WERE RECEIVED FROM VETERANS AND IDPs
On December 5, at 18.00, the acceptance of documents from persons who wanted to participate in the housing loan program for ATO/JFO participants and IDPs was completed. According to the estimates of Derzhmolodzhitlo, within three days allotted for accepting applications, according to the procedure for realization of the housing program, the regional administrations of Derzhmolodzhitlo received more than 9600 applications for housing loans. Most of those who wanted to get a loan at 3% interest rate per annum for the period of up to 20 years turned out to be in Kyiv (more than 3,500 applications).
For the whole country, more than 3,100 applications were received from ATO/JFO participants, and more than 6,500 from internally displaced persons.
According to Derzhmolodzhitlo, processing of the information received and entering data on program participants into the register, which is publicly available on the websites of the regional Derzhmolodzhitlo administrations, will last until next week.
«Funds for the program were found literally at one of the last government meetings as a result of the redistribution, and they must be used before the end of the year. Therefore, we had to devote only 3 days to the procedure for submitting of electronic applications. Ahead of the applicants is the collection of necessary documents. The number of applications submitted indicates that such programs are in demand; we are on the right track. People’s interest has been proven, and therefore an argument has been received that we will need for lobbying of the continuation of the preferential program for next year and allocation of funds for it», ‒ said Anton Columbet, First Deputy Minister for Veterans Affairs, Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons
Derzhmolodzhitlo is convinced of the need to continue such a program for the next year too.
«This pilot project was a serious challenge for Derzhmolodzhitlo team and its regional departments, and I believe that we have addressed this challenge. I hope that based on an analysis of the results of the pilot project, the government will retain this program in 2020. After analysing the first stage of its implementation, together with the Ministry of Regional Development and the Ministry for Veterans Affairs, we should begin to search for sources of funding for the program for next year and give the only correct answer to the request of hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians requiring their own housing. It is equally important not to forget about other categories of the population - young people, teachers, medics - all those who urgently need state support in acquiring housing. And for whom, the factor of their own home will be decisive in deciding to stay and work at home», ‒ said Serhii Komnatnyi, Chairman of the Board of Derzhmolodzhitlo.
Recall that this year there was 200 million UAH allocated for this program, of which 100 million UAH for veterans and 100 million UAH for internally displaced persons. The Government approved the Program for using the funds provided in the state budget for provision of preferential loans to internally displaced persons, ATO/JFO participants for the purchase of housing only on November 27, and in just a week it was managed to overcome most of the way so that people could get an opportunity to move to their own houses.
