THE COMMISSION FOR BROADCASTING IN THE TOT OF UKRAINE HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED UNDER THE MINISTRY FOR REINTEGRATION

On the instructions of the Deputy Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, the Commission on the stable functioning of national television and radio broadcasting in the temporarily occupied territories and border areas of Ukraine was established under the Ministry for Reintegration of the Temporary Occupied Territories of Ukraine. The Commission will be headed by Oleksii Reznikov, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, Minister for Reintegration of the Temporary Occupied Territories of Ukraine.

The main task of the Commission is to ensure cooperation between state authorities on issues related to the broadcasting of Ukrainian content on the temporarily occupied territories and border areas of Ukraine and broadcasting on the territories of foreign states.

According to the Commission's Secretary Yuliia Laputina, and according to the information available at the Ministry, more than half of citizens do not have access to Ukrainian TV channels or access to Ukrainian Internet sites at all on the temporarily occupied territories. Therefore, one of our priority tasks will be to return the residents of the temporarily occupied territories to the political, cultural and social life of Ukraine.

The state uses all technologies to provide citizens with domestic broadcasting, realizing the strategy of information reintegration of the occupied territories, added the Secretary of the Commission.

The Commission is a permanent expert advisory body, which is formed to:

1) develop proposals on the formation and realization of state policy in the areas of information sovereignty of Ukraine, information security and state foreign broadcasting; establish feedback from citizens of Ukraine who reside on the temporarily occupied territories and border areas of Ukraine; counter disinformation and special information operations;

2) assist in the information reintegration of the temporarily occupied territories;

3) carry out monitoring of the possibility of access to the reception of television and radio programmes by the residents of the temporarily occupied territories and border areas of Ukraine.
