On December 10, 2019, Kyiv hosted the First National Forum on migration and fighting human trafficking, organized by the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine. It, in particular, discussed the issues faced by internally displaced persons from temporarily occupied territories.
The First Deputy Minister for Veterans Affairs, Anton Kolumbet delivered an opening statement during the Forum. He noted that the Ministry for Temporarily Occupied Territories has shifted functionality to the Ministry for Veterans Affairs. This functionality is the new challenges that the Ministry for Veterans Affairs team is ready to face. The fundamental position of the Ministry is to help Ukrainian citizens affected by the occupation of the Russian Federation and to facilitate the integration into local communities of those who were able to break out of it.
