REPRESENTATIVES OF THE GOVERNMENT AND PARLIAMENT AGREED ON COOPERATION IN THE STATE TARGET HOUSING PROGRAM FOR VETERANS AND IDPS
The meeting, which was held at the Ministry for Veterans Affairs, Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons of Ukraine, was attended by the Heads of the Ministry for Veterans Affairs, representatives of Ministry for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, the Chairperson and People's Deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on State Building, Local Governance, Regional and Urban Development.
They discussed existing housing programs for veterans and internally displaced persons, mechanisms of the process and effectiveness. The participants to the meeting agreed to find a new joint approach to solve the urgent issue of these citizens on housing and to develop a high-quality Program, due to which providing people with housing will become quick and efficient.
As a result of the meeting, we agreed to create an Interdepartmental group, which should include representatives of all relevant and interested departments that will jointly develop a corresponding Program.
«We must take into account the possibilities and needs of our citizens, as well as the real capacity of budgets, both state and local. In addition, it is important to build houses in those places where their future residents will subsequently be able to realize themselves and, most importantly, obtain employment», ‒ noted Oksana Koliada, Minister for Veterans Affairs.
Andriy Klochko, Head of the Committee also noted the importance of applying joint efforts of the Government and Parliament to address this acute issue.
