DRAFT RESOLUTION ON THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A UNIFIED COMMISSION ON PERSONS DEPRIVED OF PERSONAL FREEDOM AND PAYMENT OF A LUMP-SUM TO PRISONERS WAS SENT TO THE CABINET OF MINISTERS OF UKRAINE
A draft resolution "On Amendments to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated from April 18, 2018 No. 328 and December 11, 2019 No.1122" is sent to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. It provides for the definition of a unified commission, which will take care of the issues of persons deprived of their personal freedom and make the appropriate decisions provided for in the Procedure of Use of Funds. In particular, this commission will decide on the provision of financial assistance in the amount of UAH one hundred thousand to the released prisoners.
The Order "On Establishment of an Interdepartmental Commission on Issues related to the recognition of persons imprisoned as a result of armed aggression against Ukraine and implementation of measures aimed at their social protection" shall be coordinated with all bodies, representatives of which shall be members of the commission. After the amendments to the resolutions and adoption of it and the regulation on the commission, the order shall be sent for state registration to the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine. After registration the order comes into force and the commission can immediately begin its work.
Therefore, as soon as this issue is settled, the process of payment of financial assistance will start in the near future, according to the legislation.
“The Ministry for Veterans Affairs has made every effort to initiate this process and to assist the persons as soon as possible. This draft resolution is not the only factor that can affect the process of collecting the commission, its work and, as a result, the payment of funds. No other factors have an impact on this,” said the Head of the Department of the Ministry for Veterans Affairs Serhii Mokreniuk.
