The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has preserved the co-financing expenditures of the State Budget 2020 for the acquisition of housing for internally displaced persons (IDPs) at UAH 20 million.

The relevant expenditures were preserved when introducing amendments to the State Budget of Ukraine for 2020.

Other expenditures related to assistance to IDPs and citizens released from captivity have also been preserved.

Therefore, the expenditures have been preserved at UAH 66.514 million for the payment of a lump sum benefit to prisoners (UAH 100 thousand per person) and the payment of the monthly State Scholarship named after Levko Lukyanenko (UAH 6081 per person); for subventions to local budgets (at the expense of the KfW grant) equal to UAH 485 million and financing of the project on drinking water supply to Mariupol (loan from the Government of France) of UAH 173.867 million); for financing of UAH 5 million for activities aimed at reducing the social, economic and environmental impact of explosive objects on the lives of civilians and raising awareness on explosive hazards among civilians.

“This vote is critical not only in terms of preserving expenditures on these important activities, and, above all, with this vote, the Verkhovna Rada essentially gave the start and green light to the work of the new Ministry for Reintegration of the Temporary Occupied Territories. Great appreciation to all the deputies who voted in favour. No less significant is the approval of financing for the program for monetary compensation equal to UAH 20 million for this year to victims, whose housing has been destroyed due to the armed aggression of the Russian Federation,” emphasized Deputy Prime Minister Oleksii Reznikov.
