REZNIKOV INVITED IAEA TO VISIT UKRAINE IN 2021
On October 2, 2020, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov held an online meeting with the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi.
The head of the IAEA reaffirmed appreciation to the useful cooperation between the Agency and Ukraine as a state, that has one of the largest nuclear programs in Europe. Rafael Grossi highly appreciated the position of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on prospects of nuclear industry development in the country, expressed on the occasion of recent signing of a new contract between Enerhoatom and Westinghouse.
During the meeting, a number of issues related to cooperation with the IAEA in the context of realizing Ukraine's national interests were discussed, in particular, regarding the application of the Agency's guarantees throughout our country.
The Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine invited the IAEA Director General to visit Ukraine in 2021. Let us recall that 2021 will mark the 35th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster.
