A MEANINGFUL IMPROVEMENT WAS REACHED IN THE LEVEL OF CONFIDENCE OF DONBAS RESIDENTS TO THE UAF
The implementation of humanitarian initiatives in Donbas has increased the level of confidence of local residents to the military.
This was stated by Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant-General Serhiy Nayev, reports the press service of the civil-military cooperation of the UAF.
«By cooperative efforts, through the introduction of humanitarian initiatives in the territory of Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts, we managed to significantly increase the level of confidence of local citizens to the military as a state institution in a rather short time. This is an important factor in the conditions of the hybrid war that is currently being waged against Ukraine», ‒ noted Nayev.
As recognized, for the period from May 2018, within the framework of the strategic humanitarian initiative «Help East», medical equipment, furniture, orthoses, hygiene products, clothing for doctors, wheelchairs and other things necessary for doctors and patients totalling 13 million UAH were handed to 28 medical and geriatric institutions, hospitals, outpatient clinics, and nursing homes in Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts.
In addition, the other day, as part of the strategic humanitarian initiative «Help East» health-care humanitarian assistance totalling 835 thousand UAH was handed to four Military Mobile hospitals in Mariupol, ChasivYar, Pokrovsk, Sievierodonetsk.
The «Help East» strategic initiative, as a multi-purpose and diverse program of targeted actions to help civilians of Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts, was founded in May 2018 by Lieutenant-General Serhiy Nayev as the commander of JFO. This year, the project «Help East» was supported by the Chief of the General Staff - Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Lieutenant General Ruslan Khomchak.
Military units, civil-military administrations, humanitarian, transport and non-profit organisations are also participating.
The Project was developed and coordinated by the military, and is being implemented with the assistance of the Association of International Road Carriers of Ukraine, as well as the French Association «Medical and Charitable Assistance France-Ukraine».
