Commission for consideration of issues related to the provision of monetary compensation to affected persons, whose houses (apartments) were destroyed as a result of an emergency military situation caused by armed aggression of the Russian Federation in Luhansk oblast, adopted a decision to provide monetary compensation to 5 affected persons in the total amount of UAH 1.5 million.

Thus, the Commission considered 7 applications for monetary compensation for 7 destroyed facilities and adopted a decision to provide monetary compensation to 5 affected persons, who own facilities which were destroyed, as well as to include them in the generalized list; 4 of which are located in Stanytsia Luhanska village, and one is located in Zolote city.

Therefore, according to the results of the meeting of the Commission, 5 affected persons will receive compensation in the total amount of UAH 1.5 million, which constitutes UAH 300 000 per destroyed facility. The Commission also postponed the decision on one facility. One application was denied monetary compensation.

It is important, that not housing replacement is meant but rather compensation for loss of housing. This in no way excludes further steps on provision of evidence of destruction and compensation by the Russian Federation of the actual financial loss due to destruction of housing – the Ministry for Reintegration of TOT has already developed the draft bill “On the State Policy of the Transition Period”, which has now been submitted for review to the central executive bodies, scientists, specialists - up to 160 respondents in total.

Upon receipt of the generalized list of victims, Ministry for Reintegration of TOT will distribute the budget funds to the regional social security department of Luhansk oblast, which will further, within five days following receipt of such funds at its bank account, make payments to the affected persons.

Let us recall that earlier meetings of the Commission in Luhansk oblast were held on November 18, 2020, on December 2, 2020 and on December 16, 2020.

In general, since the launch of the Commissions for consideration of issues related to the provision of monetary compensation to affected persons, whose houses (apartments) were destroyed as a result of an emergency military situation caused by armed aggression of the Russian Federation set up at Donetsk and Luhansk Regional State Administrations (November 18, 2020), the decisions have been adopted to allocate monetary compensation to 74 affected persons who own 67 housing facilities in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts.
