SYNCHRONIZATION OF ACTIONS OF THE GOVERNMENT BODIES ON THE ISSUES OF DE-OCCUPATION OF CRIMEA AND SEVASTOPOL
On July 2, 2020, the National Information Agency "Ukrinform" held a press conference on synchronization of actions of the government bodies in measures for the de-occupation of the Crimean Peninsula.
Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, Minister for Reintegration of the Temporary Occupied Territories of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov, Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine to the Autonomous Republic of Crimea Anton Korynevych, and Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Human Rights, De-occupation and Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories in Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, and Sevastopol Dmytro Lubinets have also participated in the press conference.
Within the framework of the press conference there was presented a joint document on "Current guidelines for the state policy due to the temporary occupation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol", which defines a unified state approach to the use of terminology, as well as the position on the most high-profile issues: citizenship, protection of detained persons, status and protection of indigenous people - Crimean Tatars, definition of illegal bodies of the occupation "authority", water supply, approaches to the policy of sanctions, and the like.
Addressing participants at a press conference, Oleksii Reznikov noted: “This is the first document like this to be distributed for use by the executive authorities. We should add systematization to the state policy in the area of de-occupation and reintegration. The Ministry for Reintegration, the Profile Committee of the Parliament and the Mission of the President are already actively cooperating in this direction, for which I am grateful to my colleagues. After all, we approach difficult tasks, which are long overdue and which can only be solved jointly. It is about improvement of the policy of sanctions and coordination of protection of rights and interests violated by the occupying state in national and international courts, the introduction of transitional justice, the creation of an international high-level platform for the de-occupation of Crimea, the release of our Crimean prisoners, and the like. I am sure that we can accomplish it all.”
In his speech, the Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine to the Autonomous Republic of Crimea Anton Korynevych emphasized: “Presentation of joint document on guidelines of the state on issues related to the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea and Sevastopol, which contains information on the formation of unified approaches to the TOT, terminology, legal framework of the state on the temporarily occupied territory is not just a discussion of the text, but also a demonstration of cooperation between the Mission of the President, Government and Parliament, as well as consolidation of actions for the restoration of territorial integrity of Ukraine and reintegration of certain territories.”
An important component of the presentation was the involvement of representatives of the legislative body, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. “Since the beginning of work in the relevant parliamentary Committee, I have insisted that it was impossible to talk about reintegration and de-occupation without synchronization and consolidation of efforts of all authorities. And the confirmation of such cooperation is a joint vision of the current guidelines of the state policy on temporary occupation of Crimea,”reported the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets.
