AS OF JULY 1, THE RUSSIAN-CONTROLLED OCCUPATION ADMINISTRATION IN CERTAIN AREAS OF DONETSK OBLAST OF UKRAINE IS BLOCKING THE WORK OF THE EECP ON THE CONTACT LINE
Such actions significantly deteriorate the humanitarian situation.
The Ukrainian authorities have done everything necessary to ensure safe crossing through the EECP. In particular, the most loyal crossing regime has been established for children who plan to enter Ukrainian universities; a transparent procedure and conditions of self-isolation have been proposed for others in order to ensure safety during the COVID-19 epidemic. The crossing of EECPs in Luhansk and Kherson oblasts under these rules is provided in regular operation mode.
As for Donetsk oblast, first of all, the other party initially required to enter the territory of Ukraine temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation only according to the lists with subsequent mandatory medical observation within 14 days in hospitals. Currently all EECPs on the TOT of Donetsk oblast are completely blocked.
Moreover, since June 24, the occupation "authorities" provided organized trips for residents of Donetsk oblast who have Russian passports to Rostov oblast of the Russian Federation to vote for amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation. The movement on the temporarily non-Government controlled area of Ukrainian-Russian border is now open, and no security measures are used during the epidemic.
“On June 9-10, the Ukrainian delegation raised the issue of opening the EECP, while on the free area of the Donbass EECP "Stanytsa Luhanska" and "Mariinka" were opened on June 10. In Luhansk oblast, the crossing was gradually established, in Donetsk it was blocked from the non-Government controlled area of Ukraine. For the people's interests, the Ukrainian side acted as flexibly as possible, we ensured the prompt opening of the second EECP in Donetsk oblast - in Novotroitske, which the other party insisted on. But they also closed it in a few days. Meaning that they blocked one EECP, insisted on opening another, we opened it, and they blocked it too. This issue will be raised again by the Ukrainian delegation at the Trilateral Contact Group meeting next week,” emphasized Oleksii Reznikov Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Reintegration of the Temporary Occupied Territories of Ukraine.
