On June 12, there is a one-day working visit of Ukrainian government officials to Paris.  The purpose of the visit is to hold consultations with members of the team of President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron to discuss the ways forward with regard to the agreements of the leaders of the Normandy format countries on the peaceful settlement in Donbass.

The visit is a continuation of the dialogue, which began on June 2 in Berlin and is aimed to familiarize international partners with the position of the Ukrainian side and specific measures that Ukraine is taking to achieve peace.

The Ukrainian delegation headed by Oleksii Reznikov, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Reintegration of the Temporary Occupied Territories of Ukraine, includes, inter alia, Andrii Taran, Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Oleksandr Tkachenko, Minister of Culture and Information Policy, Andrii Yermak, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine and other officials.

A meeting with diplomatic adviser to French President Emmanuel Bonne is scheduled in the framework of the visit.

“Normandy Format Summit held in Paris on December 9 allowed to give an impetus to the dialogue, including in the framework of "Minsk process", which is directly related to the Normandy Four. The mutual release of the detained persons has been carried out twice. During this period, the Ukrainian side has made a number of steps that prove our desire to achieve peace. The status of the Ukrainian representation in "Minsk" has been significantly raised. The main point is that we have finally managed to involve representatives of certain districts of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts in the consultations provided for by the Minsk agreements as part of the Ukrainian delegation. We want to maintain the momentum and, with the assistance of our partner to achieve security, which is a prerequisite for a political settlement. Ukraine is doing its utmost for it,” emphasized Oleksii Reznikov.

The Ukrainian delegation will return to Kyiv tonight.
