976 200 PEOPLE CROSSED THE CONTACT LINE IN THE EAST OF UKRAINE IN JANUARY 2019

During January, 976 200 people crossed the contact line in the east of Ukraine in both directions. 725 800 out of them- through the EECPs in Donetsk oblast, 250 400 people- through the EECP “Stanytsia Luhanska”

Comparing with December, there was recorded a decrease in the number of crossings by civilian population in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts in general by 10.5% and vehicles by 14.5%.

EECP  “Stanytsia Luhanska” was crossed by 250 400 people and 0 vehicles;

EECP  “Marinka” was crossed by 212 400 people and 35 300 vehicles;

EECP “Maiorske” was crossed by 228 800 people and 26 400 vehicles;

EECP  “Novotroitske” was crossed by 192 400 people and 34 700 vehicles;

EECP “Hnutove” was crossed by 92 200 people and 19 900 vehicles;

 

Besides, humanitarian cargoes were delivered by international organizations through the EECP  “Novotroitske” in Donetsk oblast:

vehicles (units) - 3 un.;

food products - 29,30 tons;

The citizens of Ukraine, living in the temporarily occupied territories, travel to the controlled area to visit families and to purchase the necessary goods and services. The Ministry for Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons of Ukraine is actively working on improving the convenience and speed of crossing of EECPs by citizens, who live in the temporarily occupied territory due to the circumstances which are beyond their control.
