The participants of the meeting talked about cooperation on many important issues, including joint activities in the field of assistance for internally displaced persons, overcoming the consequences of the conflict, the search for missing persons in special circumstances and illegally detained persons in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

“Protecting the lives and dignity of people affected by the armed aggression in the East of Ukraine is the main goal of Ministry's cooperation with international organizations, including the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (hereinafter referred to as IFRC). The Ministry for Veterans Affairs directs its efforts to assist citizens affected by the Russian occupation and their reintegration,” said Deputy Minister for European Integration Oleksii Iliashenko during the meeting. He also thanked for the assistance for Ukrainians, affected by armed aggression of the Russian Federation and are forced to stay in the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts.

Mr. Kerem Kinik, President of the Turkish Red Crescent and Vice President of the IFRC, assured of further assistance for Ukraine and noted that the organization, which he heads, is independent, neutral and whose main task is to assist the affected persons. Mr. Kerem, thanked the Ministry for Veterans Affairs for fruitful cooperation in the field of humanitarian cooperation and support for internally displaced persons in the country.

The meeting was also attended by Mrs. Liliia Bilous, Director General of the National Committee of the Red Cross of Ukraine.
