MORE THAN 140 SITUATIONS WHICH CAN DESTABILIZE UKRAINIAN SOCIETY WERE RECORDED IN JANUARY
The Ministry for Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons of Ukraine (MTOT) has analyzed information obtained from the open sources about situations which can destabilize Ukrainian society. In January of this year, more than 140 out of such situations were recorded by the staff of MTOT
Religious provocations, the desecration of historical monuments, vandalism, the illicit manufacture and use of weapons, the recruitment of Ukrainian citizens by Russian special services and their subversive activities lead to the intergroup tension, the split of society and the weakening of Ukraine from the outside.
It is not the first year when the propaganda machine of the Russian Federation has been working on the identification of Ukraine's internal issues.
On the eve of the elections in Ukraine the processes of subversive activity were particularly intensified
In particular, the law enforcement agencies are increasingly exposing anti-Ukrainian agitators and recruited citizens of Ukraine, who receive tasks and are guided directly from the Russian Federation. Different categories of population fall under the influence of special services, in spite of age and social status. In total, in January there were recorded 13 out of such cases: in Odesa - 5, in Kyiv and Kyiv oblast - 3, 3 more in Kharkiv oblast and 2 cases in Zaporizhzhia oblast.
For example, in January the law enforcement agencies exposed a resident of Odessa who distributed anti-Ukrainian materials through forbidden Russian social networks. The woman regularly posted information on personal pages, calling for a change of the state border and the constitutional system of Ukraine, as well as materials, promoting illegal armed formations operating in the temporarily occupied part of Donbas. Publications that she used were received from Russian propaganda Internet publications.
A similar situation took place in Zaporizhzhia, where a man administered several groups, including those in forbidden Russian social networks, and disseminated information calling for a violation of the territorial integrity of Ukraine, overthrow of state power and constitutional order, justifying Russian aggression against Ukraine. The materials were obtained from Russian propaganda resources and sites.
Pseudo-mining still remains one of the problematic areas that can be used by the aggressor-state to destabilize the situation in Ukraine
In January there were recorded 29 out of such cases: in Dnipropetrovsk oblast - 10, in Lviv oblast - 6, in Kyiv and Kyiv oblast - 4, in Zaporizka, Luhansk, and Kharkiv oblasts – 2 cases in each, in Odesa, Ivano-Frankivsk and Kherson oblasts - 1 case in each.
In parallel with piling on the pessure, we can observe many cases of illicit manufacturing and distribution of weapons and explosive materials among the civilian population, as well as the facts of violence with their usage
For example, the law enforcement agencies blocked the smuggling of foreign manufacture weapons that the malefactors tried to transfer to our state. Representatives of domestic commercial structures tried to organize illegal transfer to the territory of Ukraine of 250 units of automatic fire-arms of foreign manufacture. In Lviv, the law enforcement agencies detained a man while selling a reactive antitank grenade. Also, according to the results of the search, there were deforced from the owner: the substance similar to "TNT block", weighing about 200 grams, grenades F-1 and RHD-5, one primer UZRGM, a rifle with cartridges and the substance similar to C-4, weighing about 100 grams.
The similar situation took place in Luhansk region. The law enforcement agencies arrested a resident of Severodonetsk while attempting to sell three rocket antitank grenade launchers to the customer. Earlier, the special services documented the selling by the malefactor of eight TNT-blocks, weighing one thousand six hundred grams, 15 grenades with primers and more than fifty thousand sets of different caliber.
Law enforcement agencies almost daily expose malefactors who store or distribute weapons
The number of weapons illegally held by the population since the beginning of armed aggression of the Russian Federation in the east of Ukraine has increased, as well as its diversity has increased. For example, in Dnipro an unknown person shot from the portable anti-tank grenade launcher at the car “Toyota”. The driver and the passenger who were in the car did not suffer.
According to monitoring, in January, the largest number of cases that could destabilize the situation within Ukrainian society were recorded in Dnipropetrovsk oblast (11%), Kyiv and Kyiv oblast (9%), Zakarpattia oblast (9%) and Zhytomyr oblast (8%)
In accordance with the provisions on its activity, MTOT executes a number of measures to resolve issues related to conflict and vulnerable territories, and also has a prior work - to strengthen the stability of Ukraine in the face of challenges that are often artificially created from outside for its weakening.
Such measures include coordinating efforts on monitoring, data analysing and taking preventive measures to resolve conflicts within community, not only in the east but also throughout Ukraine.
