UKRAINIAN MILITARY AND BORDER GUARDS NEUTRALIZED THE PROVOCATION AT THE EECP "NOVOTROITSKE"

Yesterday, on June 22, after the opening of the check point of entry/exit "Novotroitske" by the decision of the Commander of the Joint Forces Operation, 135 persons crossed the contact line through the EECP. EECP "Novotroitske" was open on June 22 from 9 am to 6 pm, but 110 persons managed to cross the EECP only after 6 pm.

According to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, the crossing from the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine was surprisingly slow, but closer to the regulated time of completion of the work of the EECP, citizens began to arrive massively to the EECP. Persons explained this by the fact that the occupation "authorities", despite the announcement of the restoration of the pass on the road corridor "Donetsk-Mariupol", blocked the possibility of citizens to cross the contact line there.

The Russian occupation "authorities" by these actions tried to carry out a provocation by allowing persons to cross after 6 pm and hoping that the EECPs on the Government-controlled territory of Ukraine will not operate.

“Special thanks to the Commander of the Joint Forces Operation, who extended the work of the EECP, and our border guards, thanks to whom even the last one who arrived from the temporarily occupied territory could formalize the pass after 9 pm,” emphasized in the Ministry for Reintegration.

As for the crossing through the EECP "Novotroitske" to the territory temporarily occupied by Russia, according to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, one vehicle with four people and four pedestrians left the Government-controlled territory of Ukraine yesterday. However, the citizens, who traveled by car, returned. They reported that armed groups controlled by the Russian Federation did not allow them to cross at the checkpoint.

Furthermore, according to citizens who arrived yesterday in the evening from TOT, four pedestrians, including one woman on crutches were waiting in front of the militants' checkpoint where they planned to spend the night if they were not allowed to cross. The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine notes that in case these persons return to the Government-controlled territory of Ukraine, the border guards are ready to assist them to pass the registration even during non-working hours of the EECP.

Today, on June 23, EECP "Novotroitske" works from 7 am to 6 pm.

It should be noted that the Russian occupation administration in Donetsk intentionally complicates the crossing of the contact line for citizens. In particular, it has already been announced that the return to the temporarily occupied territory will be allowed only from June 25 and only according to pre-compiled lists.

Moreover, the number of persons allowed to cross to the TOT of Donetsk oblast will be associated with the number of hospital beds reserved for the examination of persons coming from the free territory of Ukraine. In this regard, it is expected that no more than 30-40 persons will be allowed to the temporarily occupied areas of Donetsk oblast once every few days.

At the same time, when leaving to the free territory of Ukraine, citizens are forced to give their fingerprints, interviewed for "passports" of unrecognized entities in the temporarily occupied territories, as well as Russian citizenship.

A total of 545 persons arrived from TOT of Donetsk and Luhansk oblast on June 22, including 410 persons through EECP "Stanytsa Luhanska" (Luhansk oblast) and 135 through EECP "Novotroitske" (Donetsk oblast). 405 persons travelled to the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts of Ukraine, including 397 persons through EECP "Stanytsa Luhanska" and 8 persons through the EECP "Novotroitske". However, militants controlled by Russia didn't allow five persons to cross. On June 22, 458 persons crossed the administrative line with the TOT of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, including 231 persons who travelled to the mainland Ukraine, 227 persons travelled to the temporarily occupied Ukrainian Peninsula.
