GOVERNMENT APPROVED GRANT AND PROJECT AGREEMENT TO ATTRACT EUR 25.5 MILLION FROM KFW FOR HOUSING FOR IDPS

The Government approved a grant and project agreement between the Ministry for Reintegration of the Temporary Occupied Territories of Ukraine, State Fund for the Promotion of Youth Housing Construction and the Credit Institute for Reconstruction (german - Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau KfW) for the provision of EUR 25.5 million for the realization of the project "Housing for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs)" and authorized Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov to sign it.

These agreements define the procedure and conditions for the provision of funds, the procedure for their use, the mechanisms for attracting financial institutions, and the responsibility for improper performance of the contractual terms. The objective of the project is to provide housing to Ukrainian citizens who were forced to leave their homes due to the armed aggression of the Russian Federation. It is assumed that the IDPs will be able to get a loan of up to EUR 20 000 for up to 10 years under preferential terms (3-5%) at the rate of 21 square meters of total area per 1 person + 10.5 square meters per family.

As it is known, the agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of Germany on financial cooperation for the project "Housing for internally displaced persons" was signed on June 3, 2020 by the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, Minister for Reintegration of the Temporary occupied territories of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Ukraine Anka Feldguzen.

Let us recall, that the Government has also distributed subventions from the state budget in the amount of UAH 3.43 million for the purchase of housing for internally displaced persons (IDPs).
