The Government has accepted the proposal to impose sanctions against those who destroy cultural heritage sites in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol, carry out television and radio broadcast there, and also supplies materials for the military-industrial complex of the Russian Federation.

During the Government meeting, the proposal by the Ministry for Veterans Affairs was adopted, on regulation to impose sanctions to legal entities that ensure the illegal activity of the occupation administration of the Russian Federation and legal entities involved in illegal searches at archaeological heritage sites, destruction or damage of cultural heritage sites. These are 39 legal entities registered in the territory of Russia and 22 legal entities registered in the territory of Crimea and Sevastopol in line with the Russian legislation.

The sanctions were also imposed on the legal entities which provide illegal radio broadcasting services in the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol.

In particular, these are 19 legal entitles registered in Russia and 15 legal entities registered in Crimea and Sevastopol in line with the Russian legislation.

In addition, the sanctions were imposed on the legal entities involved in the supply of materials, equipment and services to enterprises of the military-industrial complex of the Russian Federation, illegally located in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine.

In particular, these are 33 legal entities registered in the territory of the Russian Federation and 3 legal entities registered in the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol in line with the Russian legislation.

«Those who think that on the territory of our peninsula they can do whatever they want, in particular disturb the cultural heritage, conduct excavations, broadcast their propaganda channels - are deeply mistaken! Their illegal activity is nothing more than a crime, and any crime should be punished. As for the supplies of the military-industrial complex of the Russian Federation, these criminals must assume greater responsibility, providing the assistance of the army of the aggressor country, fighting with us», ‒ said Oksana Koliada, Minister for Veterans Affairs, Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons.

The Ministry for Veterans Affairs believes that such actions by mentioned legal entities contribute to the legitimization of illegal occupation and attempts to annex the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol by the Russian Federation, creating real and potential threats to the national security of Ukraine.

The sanctions imposed on the legal entities will make their economic activities in Ukraine impossible. In addition, this will enable our partners to initiate the imposition of sanctions on certain legal entities in the countries of the European Union and the United States of America.
