Minister for Veterans Affairs, Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons Oksana Koliada appealed to members of the Public Council with a proposal to actively participate in the process of advocacy and lobbying for a draft bill on the status of war veterans. Soon, this draft bill will be registered in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the stage of discussions in the Committees and with the public will begin, which if take place the sooner, the better, the sooner deputies will be able to consider and adopt the draft bill.
“I encourage you to join the process of disseminating the information contained in this draft bill about social guarantees that are provided for in it, the budgets of which departments provide funds for the certain social guarantees, in particular in the budget of the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education and Science, etc. This law completely changes the approach and attitude towards veterans, provides them with more opportunities for development and self-realization, takes into account modern needs,” noted Minister Oksana Koliada.
Draft bill provides for social guarantees not only for war veterans, but also for their families, the families of the fallen defenders, victims of the Revolution of Dignity, and families of Heavenly Hundred Heroes.
All articles in the draft bill were developed and created with the direct participation of representatives of all beneficiary groups of the future law.
