RESTORATION OF HEALTH AND DOCUMENTS ARE THE PRIORITY NEEDS FOR UKRAINIANS RELEASED FROM CAPTIVITY, WHICH THE MINISTRY FOR VETERANS AFFAIRS ARE RESOLVING

Representatives of the Ministry for Veterans Affairs daily visit those who were released on December 29, taken to Kyiv and placed in Feofaniya Clinical Hospital, together with the specialists involved, provide the necessary services and consultations.

«People seek legal advice and assistance; first of all, they all need to renew their documents: passport, driver’s license and others. This is also necessary in order for the commission to further process their requests for payment of one hundred thousand UAH of financial assistance», ‒ said Serhii Mokreniuk, Head of the Department of the Ministry for Veterans Affairs, Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons.

In addition to legal advice and assistance, people need medical assistance. According to the results of the surveys, a decision is made to provide needed assistance.

«First of all, those released from captivity require dental intervention, in particular with complex manipulations, implants, which will be provided to them free of charge. The Ministry for Veterans Affairs managed to reach an agreement with the Dental Association about their assistance. Also, those who were deprived of their personal freedom are experiencing cardiological problems, some have maxillofacial injuries, resulting from torture and abuse in captivity», ‒ said the Advisor to the Minister for Veterans Affairs, Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons for Medical Affairs Tetyana Timoshenko.

Psychologists also work with persons on a daily basis, providing them with comprehensive assistance and support, the work of which is coordinated by the Head of the Hospital for War Veterans «LisovaPoliana» KseniiaVoznitsyna.
